Al Taawoun head coach Vuk Rasovic reflected on his side’s performance against Al Qadsiah during the post-match press conference, highlighting the team’s tactical approach, the impact of injuries and the need to return to winning ways.
Rasovic explained that Al Taawoun approached the game with a clear tactical plan against a strong Al Qadsiah side.
“We had our own approach to playing against a strong team like Al Qadsiah. We knew what was required from us tactically, particularly from a defensive perspective,” Rasovic said.
He added: “In the second half, we had moments where we were better than them, but unfortunately, we were unable to score. We also faced difficulties from the beginning of the match. Within the first ten minutes, we were forced to make two substitutions, which made things more difficult for us.”
Rasovic also highlighted the impact of Ashraf Al Mahdioui’s injury late in the match, saying: “These problems increased in the 92nd minute when Ashraf was injured, and Al Qadsiah were able to take advantage of his absence and score.”
The Al Taawoun head coach congratulated Al Qadsiah on the victory, saying: “We must not forget to congratulate Al Qadsiah. They were the better side and they have a strong team.”
Rasovic also used the opportunity to send a message to his players, adding: “I want to take this opportunity to send a message to the Al Taawoun players: we must work very hard.”
On the Injuries
Asked about the injuries sustained during the match, Rasovic said the full extent of the injuries would be determined following further medical assessment.
“They could be related to physical accumulation. Tomorrow, we will know more about the extent of their injuries after speaking with the medical staff,” he explained.
On Al Taawoun’s Run Without a Win
Regarding the team’s failure to secure victories in recent matches, Rasovic acknowledged that taking their chances could have changed the outcome.
“We could have been having a different conversation if we had taken our chances and if Ashraf had remained on the pitch without us conceding that goal,” he said.
“We have many matches ahead of us, and we must return to winning ways.”
On the Discussion Between Ashraf and Hamdallah
Asked about the discussion between Ashraf Al Mahdioui and Hamdallah, Rasovic described such exchanges as a normal and positive part of football.
“I don’t know what caused the discussion, but these things are normal. These discussions are positive, and the guidance is justified because it helps the team perform better,” he said.
“I would not prefer to see a lack of intensity or responsibility. These things are positive.”
