The technical staff of the national first beach soccer team called up eight Al-Taawoun FC players to join the national team's preparatory camp being held in Riyadh, as part of the second phase of the preparation programme in readiness for taking part in the 2026 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup, which qualifies for the 2027 World Cup
The list of players called up from Al-Taawoun FC included: Mohammed Al-Ajmi, Khaled Wahib, Ahmed Al-Hammami, Omar Qaramish, Majed Shamhani, Qasim Dibaji, Naif Yakel, and Waleed Al-Yubi
The call-up of the eight players comes as confirmation of the presence of Al-Taawoun players among the national teams, and their participation in the preparation phase for the upcoming continental commitments
The national first beach soccer team continues its training within its camp in Riyadh, which runs until 5 October, under Brazilian head coach Guga Zolukovic
The draw for the 2026 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup had placed the Saudi team in Group 3 alongside the teams of Oman, the UAE and Uzbekistan, with the Green Falcons beginning their campaign against the UAE on 19 November, then Oman on 21 November, before concluding the group stage against Uzbekistan on 23 November
